Dr. Richard S. Foulke

Dr. Foulke is our practice's founding physician, practicing in the Charlotte/Matthews area since 1993. He trained at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio and completed his military obligation in Augusta, GA before moving to Charlotte. Growing up in New Jersey, he attended Rutgers College and Rutgers Medical School. He pursued a master's degree in between while doing research for three years on hemorrhagic viruses. He has served with Presbyterian Hospital as the Chief of Oncology, Director of Cancer Research, the Medical Director of Harris Hospice and also serves monthly on the Breast Cancer Advisory Board, as well as participating monthly in the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic. He is currently the Chief of Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews. Board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology, he sees adult patients across the board in these areas with special interest in breast and colon cancers and lymphomas.
Dr. Alfred J. Newman III

Dr. Newman joined our practice in July 2004. He received his B.S. in Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College. After a year of neurobiology research, he completed medical school, internal medicine residency, and hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During his training, Dr. Newman focused his research on novel therapies for brain tumors. He has also completed the EPEC (Education for Physicians on End-Of-Life Care) trainer’s course and served as faculty for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd annual EPEC courses before moving to Charlotte. Recognizing their importance in providing patients the best possible care, Dr Newman is actively involved in tumor board conferences, multidisciplinary clinics, and clinical research trials through the Presbyterian Hospital Cancer Center. Board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, Dr Newman sees adult patients with blood disorders and cancers of all types
Dr. Lance Lassiter
Dr. Lance Lassiter joined our practice in January 2008. He came to us from Piedmont Oncology Specialists in Monroe, NC. He received his B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Alabama and his M.D. from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he subsequently served as Chief Resident. Dr. Lassiter completed his fellowship in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins University, where he did clinical research in drug development and genitourinary oncology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. While practicing in Monroe, Dr. Lassiter was active in Tumor Board, served on the Medical Executive committee and was Vice-chair of medicine and chairman of the the Peer review committee. He sees patients with all types of cancer, with special interests in breast and gastrointestinal cancers and lymphomas. Dr. Lassiter is married with 3 children and lives in Matthews, NC. When not taking care of patients, he enjoys working outdoors, spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, and participating in various endurance sports.
